I can't help but notice that Electric cars are BUZZ magnets! Everyone is taking about them! It's great, people are going to great lengths to promote them when they are not even on the market.

This is just one of many examples of people going out of their way to promote one of these electric vehicle concepts.

It's exciting to see how people are finding different ways to promote green cars. Recently I also posted two different raps about the Prius... Yeah... A rap about a Prius... you read it correctly. Despite it not really being a amazingly good looking car it's green element has made it an icon for environmentally friendly driving. Some may argue that due to the manufacturing processes they actually generate more CO2 emissions than an equivalent ICE car... I don't have the facts to counter argue it... but regardless I think it's a great example of the enthusiasm of the green car industry.

Jay Leno the world famous "Jay Leno Show" is a huge supporter of the electric car. In this show he'll be aksing celebrities to race a Ford Focus EV in the "Green Car Challenge". Similar to Top Gears celebrity challenge. The Ford Focus EV has a huge amount of torque without using one drop of gasoline! Tom Cruise and Drew Barrymore have already showed interest to race the Ford focus EV around the 1100 feet track!

As the Summer of 2009 comes to an end I know there are many of you that will be seriously considering making a 'green' vehicle purchase.  It is a very exciting step to take and one that requires a lot of commitment or time and money resources.  One thing not to forget about in all the excitement is what you will end up doing with your old car.  When it comes time to dispose of it make sure to put the environment first, use an eco-friendly auto recycler!  Our company, Green Vehicle Disposal has members all across North America and each of them is committed to disposing of vehicles in an environmentally conscious way.   If you want to learn more about the process please watch our video below.

Also keep in mind the option of not only disposing of your car in an eco-friendly way but you might want to take one more step forward and donate the proceeds to a charity of your choice.  We facilitate that for you also, take a look at www.CharityCar.us (in the USA) or www.CharityCar.ca (in Canada) - Make a difference to the planet and your local community.

Contact: Alex

Whether you want one or you already have one, hybrids are bringing people together to party!  And that's something I'll totally support!

Alex from the Bay Area, California has decided to throw a party gathering for anyone interested in hybrids. Make yourself available on October 24th.

I asked Alex why he created this event, and his response is something I'm sure that many can related to.

"The reason I made this event was because I was in my bedroom searching for a Hybrid event. The only thing I was able to find was other Hybrid owners just looking for the same thing, but no events.

I decided myself why not go put this together and just see who attends..."

The man is a pioneer and if we can help him out, then excellent!  So if you're free Saturday morning Oct 24th in the Bay, why not give Alex a honk and meet some hybrid lovers!  And spread word to your friends if you think they'd like.

The new Honda Insight... the greenest of the Honda hybrids. It's ready to take on its major competitor the Toyota Prius. The insight is similar in size but definitely looks better than the previous generation of Prius. Many of its design aspects in and outside the car look similar to its cousin the Civic. Although it has its own identity and could definitely stand out when driving around town. If you want to drive around and attract attention I would suggest looking into the available sport kits for this model.

The Insight has an interesting feature when driving as the dashboard indicator lets the driver know how green his/her driving style is by adding or subtracting little green leaves on the dashboard. Not sure how it will look in real life but it definitely gives you a little competition to see how green you can drive.

The Insight was the major player at the Geneva Auto Show 2009 as they had more than 5 models on display. I noticed that the interior space was good and there was a ton of trunk space due to it being a hatchback instead of having a trunk.

Overall a great looking hybrid from Honda which will be available in 2009.

When at the Toyota Prius booth at the Geneva Auto Show 2009, I noticed 3 white Toyota Prius which were pearl white in color. They looked really nice. We were able to throughly inspect the car and I definitely approve. :-) It is much nicer than the older model. Only thing missing was a plug... We did see a Plug in Hybrid Prius but it was only a concept vehicle.

The New toyota Prius 2010 is definitely more green than its previous model with the next generation Hybrid Synergy Drive which is 90% redesigned to optimize the efficiency and help further reduce the CO2 emissions. It reduced its CO2 emissions to just 89g/km and increased its fuel economy by 14%.
The exterior design is more sporty and aerodynamic. The redesign works well and should attract more buyers who were scared away by its less than sexy exterior. I also noticed the Solar panel on the roof which should help in providing the battery a little more juice on its drives. Nice touch for those who live in the sunshine.

The interior felt a little more spacious than the prevous generation of Prius not to mention the back seat. I had enough space and my head did not touch the ceiling and the seats were more comfortable. I also noticed the little EV mode button which allows you to do little neighborhood drives on electricity only. Pretty nice if you live less than 5 km from work.

The Th!nk city is an all electric vehicle which drives up 180 km per charge with a top speed of 100 km/h. This is a zero emissions vehicle which means no smelly exhaust fumes or need to go to the gas station. It initially seat two people but in later models the backseat will be integrated. It looks good and comes in a few different colors. I would like one in green :).

The Th!nk City will be introduced in the Netherlands as part of a Governmental program to help support the development of EVs in the Netherlands. Th!nk is working together with ElmoNet to distribute 500 Th!nk City's for the Dutch Market. I've already called to ask if there is one for me... :-)

The Dutch minister of Transportation, Minister Eurlings and the Dutch Parliament are supporting the EV development with 10 million Euros in funding. This is a good start.

More information to come once I schedual the test drive!
